This 12-bed addition is designed to fit in with, yet remain distinct from, the existing nursing home, and includes an outdoor courtyard that serves the household of 12 residents, and provides separate, controlled, access to make it easy, direct and simple for visitors to make even just a quick stop to visit their loved ones, without having to navigate through the entire facility.
Many strategies were used to minimize the institutional feel of a nursing home while providing a residential atmosphere for residents.
